NMMUN 2011 Posting Guidelines

The NMMUN 2011 Blog is intended for the use of delegates to the 2011 New Mexico Model United Nations Conference. Following are some guidelines to follow.

All posts, additions, pages, files, or comments must be relevant to issues of the Model UN Conference, and they must be in language and intent appropriate for constructive discussion and debate of those issues. If members post inappropriate information or language, the Blog will have to be closed.

The primary purpose of the NMMUN 2011 Blog is to allow delegates to upload their position papers as a “Post” so that they can be read, shared, and discussed prior to the conference.

One student per delegation will be allowed to post its Position Statement, but all students may read the posts. If you wish to respond or comment on the blog and are unable to do so, ask your delegation’s designated person who is allowed to post to send the comment.

To post your nation’s Position Statement, simply past it into the text box as a “Post” on the Blog. The title should be “Your Country’s Name, Organization [General Assembly or Security Council], Position Statement” For example: “Guatemala, General Assembly, Position Statement”

Argentina Position Paper

Position Paper

Argentina, though we are not directly involved in all of the issues we will be discussing today, they still affect us greatly. The European Union is Argentina’s first and largest investor, and without it our economy would suffer greatly; so it is very important to us that it is stabilized.

Though Argentina is not in the area where the revolutions are happening, it still affects us and the rest of the world, and we need specific guidelines so that after the revolutions are over, it does not become complete chaos. Without specific ways for how these countries should be run, there is no telling what could happen, and that could be a danger for us all.

The private military contractors and appropriate engagements in conflicts is an important issue that needs to be resolved so as to avoid future potential conflicts. If this is not resolved this could become an even greater problem and result in disasters.

Though Argentina has had no large issues with terrorism, we believe that the definition of terrorism needs to be exact, in order to know how to deal with certain situations, and so as not to mix up protests and personal attacks against the country.

Argentina urges the people to resolve these issues and avoid potential conflicts.
